This photo came from a page of "Love
Letters To Tony Geary," reprinted from Soap Opera Stars, August, 1980.
The left is the full photo, but the right is cropped to get rid of some of the
boxes that overlapped it.
The following two photos are from
an article on Genie Francis's departure from the show.
During a recent appearance on the
Mike Douglas Show Genie shared a laugh with her leading men, Tony Geary
and Kin Shriner.
Now that Scotty's back Luke and
Laura may be in for a bumpy future. But Tony and Genie are thrilled to be working
with Kin again.
The following two blurbs are from
an article on Tristan Rogers and his wife, which is reprinted from Soap Opera
Stars, June, 1981.
From the sidebar: IF LOOKS COULD
KILL...
General Hospital's Genie
Francis (Laura) always seems to be surrounded by incredibly handsome men--Tony
Geary (Luke), Rick Moses (Hutch) and now the newest heartthrob, Tristan Rogers
(Scorpio). Tristan's thrilled to be a part of this magical soap opera storyline,
and especially thrilled to be working with Mr. Geary, daytime's hottest property.
"Tony's such an up front, intense actor," says Tristan. "I consider myself lucky
to work with him."
And from the article:
"We gave ourselves five years here,"
says Tristan, who's two years ahead of schedule thanks to his winning the important
Robert Scorpio role on the most popular daytime drama. "The character evolved
when Gloria (GH producer Gloria Monty) and her husband, Robert, met this
crazy Australian self-made millionaire in Hawaii. They loved his cavalier, soldier-of-fortune
attitude and his sense of humor. Then Scorpio came up, who was supposed to be
a tough character around for a week to beat up Luke. Gloria really liked my interpretation
of the part and ordered a storyline for Scorpio. I did my introduction and then
had three weeks off while the writers figured out what to do with the character."
