The Seduction of Joe Kelly

Joe Kelly has dedicated himself to finding Diana Taylor's murderer. Both he and homicide detective Burt Ramsey believe Heather is responsible. They even think they have reconstructed the crime. They believe Heather, wearing a nurse's uniform, stole out of the sanitarium that night and used Nurse Shelley Vernon's car to drive to town. On the way she was flagged down by police to give aid at a car wreck. Then she proceeded to Diana's apartment. It is one of those policemen that Joe and Burt hope can give a positive identification of Heather at the scene.

There are other, deeper problems, for Joe in his investigation. Basically decent, he wants to give Heather the benefit of the doubt if he can. And she is intent on proving to him that she is innocent of murder. Since her release from the sanitarium she has worked hard as a waitress, trying to make a new life for herself. Or so it seems.

So Joe is caught in a dilemma. All the evidence seems to be against Heather, but when she cries on his shoulder that the whole world is against her, Joe can't help but be moved. Even attracted. One evening, in her room, they embraced briefly and kissed. Is Heather really the innocent she pretends to be? Or is she just trying to seduce the one man who can put her behind bars?

HIS LIFE'S ON THE LINE!

Ever since Hutch ratted on Big Ralph and the other inmates at state prison he has been a marked man. There has been one attempt on his life already--sending him to General Hospital--and if the authorities send him back to prison, a second attempt is sure to succeed.

But Hutch has powerful friends on the outside, working for his release. Both Joe Kelly and Lee Baldwin believe that this former Mob hit man has reformed himself while behind bars, and they have recommended to the parole board that he be released. In exchange, they promise Hutch will give vital testimony at Frank Smith's upcoming trial, thus ensuring a conviction of this vile crime boss.

Hutch's life is now in the parole board's hands. They can save him--or send him to a certain death.
