Luke & Laura Become Butler &
Maid...Alex Commits Murder...Alan Hires a Private Eye...Rick Gets Slugged in a
Bar...

No matter what the dangers were
in their desperate battle against the Cassadines, Luke and Laura were steadfast
in their love and support of one another.
As soon as Alex's lover realized
that she had betrayed him, he grabbed her, demanding to know where the precious
diamond-making formula was. Struggling to free herself, Alex smashed him over
the head with the Ice Princess statue, killing him instantly. She fled aboard
Tony Cassadine's ocean-going yacht, leaving poor Laura to discover the body of
the man known as "Wheeler."
It didn't take long for Robert Scorpio,
secret agent for the World Security Bureau, to realize that Laura had nothing
to do with the murder and that Alex and Tony Cassadine were now in possession
of the formula and ready to flee the country.
With Luke at his side, Robert snuck
aboard Tony's yacht--only to discover that Laura had come aboard as well, disguised
in a black wig and maid's uniform as one of the crew. Soon they were hidden in
the ship's cargo hold.

Wearing their disguises as "Lucy"
the maid and "Thor" the butler, Luke and Laura followed secret agent Robert Scorpio
the night he attempted to steal the Ice Princess formula.
"Do you know how dangerous this
is?" Luke asked her. "I want you off this boat right now!"
"I'm not going anywhere," Laura
replied calmly. "Whatever dangers there are, we'll share them together." Then
she kissed Luke tenderly on the lips. How could a man possibly reject such moving
proof of loyalty and affection? "Okay, you can stay," Luke said finally.
"I'll have to," Laura laughed. "We're
already moving out to sea."
Up top, Tony was re-united [sic]
with his brother, Victor, while Alex got reacquainted with her old rival for Tony's
affections, actress Tiffany Hill.
"How dare you invite that creature
aboard," Alex complained to Tony when they were alone.
"We have nothing to do with each
other anymore," Tony replied in soothing tones. "She's Victor's girlfriend now.
They're sharing the same stateroom."
Soon word came through by radio
that the Cassadines' eldest brother, Mikos, wanted to see Alex and Tony on his
private island. The two were picked up by helicopter minutes later. Now that the
only two people on the ship who knew them on sight were gone, Robert, Laura and
Luke could go topside and pose as part of the crew.
What they found out was encouraging.
Victor was in possession of the formula and carrying it in his wallet. All Robert
had to do now was sneak into his room at night and steal it back.
With Laura and Luke acting as look-outs
[sic], Robert entered. While Victor and his lady, Tiffany, slept peacefully, Robert
searched everywhere. He was almost caught when the radio alarm clock went off
prematurely, flooding the room with music. But the lovers were soon asleep again,
and Robert quickly spotted the wallet under Victor's pillow. Gingerly, Robert
poked two fingers at the precious object, but Victor's hands, tucked beneath his
chin, blocked him. Robert decided he would have to try again some other time.
The news of Susan's sudden disappearance
drove Alan frantic. "I'll do anything you want," he pleaded with his father, Edward,
"just help me find Susan."
Edward was disgusted with the fact
that his son was carrying on an affair with Susan and had made her pregnant, but
he gave in to Alan. He put him in touch with the best private eye in the country.
If he couldn't find Susan, no one could.

Alan and his wife Monica totally
despise each other, but Monica won't give Alan the divorce he seeks.
Monica was one step ahead of Alan,
however. She knew all about his shenanigans and had hired her own detective to
watch Alan's every move. Sooner or later, she knew, Alan would pay the price for
his infidelity.
A letter, written by Laura before
she slipped aboard the yacht, reached Rick and Lesley. Desperate to find the whereabouts
of their daughter, they consulted Luke's friend Slick. Slick put them on to the
Lutzes, whom they tracked to a sleazy, working class bar. But when Rick asked
Charlie Lutz for information--accusing him of once being in possession of the
Ice Princess--the tough cab driver slugged Rick and ran out the door.
Scorpio never got another chance
to snatch Victor's wallet. On Mikos' orders, the yacht put in at the Cassadines'
mysterious island, and Scorpio, Luke and Laura had to abandon the ship to avoid
being detected by Alex and Tony. They decided to take their chances in the jungle
and found a place where there was fresh water and the ground was mysteriously
warm. Scorpio soon guessed that they were directly over the Cassadines' underground
headquarters. He was right.

As his horrified friends listened,
Scorpio explained just how dangerous Mikos Cassadine really was. "We've got to
stop him!"
Mikos announced to his guests that
they would live underground for the next six weeks. With their expert scientific
help he would complete his mad plans for world control. Using rockets filled with
specially prepared diamond dust he would change the weather over any city in the
world. Unless governments listened to his demands, he would cause a second Ice
Age.

In their secret underground hideaway,
the Cassadine brothers, (Victor, Mikos, Tony) toasted their plans for world domination!
The next day Mikos shot his diamond
dust over Port Charles. What had started as a sultry summer day soon turned unseasonably
cold--and no one realized the sinister cause behind it all. If the World Security
Bureau didn't act quickly, Mikos' bizarre plans might soon become nightmarish
reality.
